An SOB in Bronze

In one of the greatest ironies since irony was discovered the Bush presidential library opened yesterday.

All presidential libraries are an expensive tribute to ego and arrogance.

While presidential libraries are (very) privately financed once completed they are maintained with a mix of an endowment (very privately donated)  and public tax payer dollars.

George Bush Jr. has the largest most expensive presidential library since they started building them.  It isn’t just the largest in square footage, it cost more than any ever built ADJUSTED FOR INFLATION.

One hopes sequestration will chop the tax dollar funding to wash the Pigeon poo off the face of his bronze statue or dust his boots.…

WE ARE CHOPPING SOCIAL SECURITY, MEDICARE AND MEDICAID.  But we seem to have the money for this.

One of the riveting displays. ^

    Greetings Lynden,

Take one of the worst Presidents and spend the most money building his museum. Just another example of how our government operates. I guess it did create some construction jobs for a little while, then a few custodians and tour guides.

I commend the pigeons for doing what I have wanted to do for a long time. Have a nice weekend.

  2. America: We don’t prosecute our war criminals. Instead we build libraries in their honor.

If only bulls could fly ;^]

I think his two terms were rather disastrous, but he did do a couple of good things while he was there. I also believe that he is convinced he did the best he could. Of course the best he could do was influenced by others.

I was glad to hear that an acknowledgement of ZERO weapons of mass destruction were found in Iraq. Now maybe that will shut up the leess informed among us. Or not, who am I kidding?

If only bulls could fly…. Bwa ha ha ha… 😉

I am just grateful he did not succeed in “privatizing” social security as he wanted to do and still mentions as his biggest regret…

😉 The less informed pride themselves on being vocal…

Ahhhhh………………”put a bird on it”. Love you Lynden, hope all is well.

I make no comments on Mr Bush’s internal politics, but the fact that he played on the so-called ‘special relationship’ to get Tony Bliar (not a typo) to back him re WMDs, thereby causing the death of an eminent British scientist, and the deaths of UK troops in Iraq? No… That is something I will neither forgive nor forget.

PS. That is one helluva an ugly building.. Judging by a pic on Gather! Oh and Gather has been inaccessible ( at least by me)since Friday evening…

    • None of us should forget the tragic results of greed run rampant over our political system of {supposed} checks & balances, it’s despicable.

Just popped in to say howdy! It will be at least another 2-3 weeks before I’ll be able to get back in the swing of things, but miss you guys bunches!…heard from a little birdie that I missed another fruit cake discussion :).

Hope all is well. Gather is in transition to the Health Guru software, but is supposed to be back up Tuesday AM…Gather wasn’t notified that it would be down, & from the sound of it, there was some “logic defying miscommunication” {aka infighting} among the two company’s tech teams.

    • osolynden says:

American policy affects the world. Our bad policy has tragic results too often. Sigh.

All we (Americans) can do is keep trying to throw the bums out of office and work to keep money from buying policy.

Yes, it’s a really ugly building. I checked and it looks like Gather is back up…
